DevOps Engineer

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) it is your responsibility to bridge the gap between Development and Operations. You will provide tools, systems, and knowledge to teams that will help them improve productivity, reduce downtime, and speed up code turnaround. Your contributions will help Development, Operations, and Support teams spend less time working on problems, and more time building new features and services.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, build, and deploy solutions that increase product reliability and
• organizational efficiency.
• Motivate and guide the creation of effective CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide mentorship and insight into DevSecOps best-practices.
• Work with product teams to expose their requirements and support the above.
• Improve reliability via root cause analyses, post-mortems, and using code to prevent
• recurrence.
• Implement effective monitoring and security scanning.
• Assist support teams in resolving issues.
• Discovering and implementing automation to reduce manual support requirements.
• Provide emergency after-hours support if needed.
• Mentor Junior Site Reliability Engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Sciences or related fields, or equivalent work
• experience.
• 8+ years as a software engineer.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly proficient in AWS design and architecture.
• Professional level AWS Certification a significant asset.
• Experience with Terraform.
• Experience with Infrastructure- and Configuration-as-Code.
• Experience with GitLab and Git in a multi-team environment.
• Some experience with containers and containers-as-a-service systems, such as EKS.
• Experience with log aggregation systems such as Splunk, Datadog, or Sumo Logic.
• Experience with APM solutions and infrastructure monitoring solutions an asset.
• Desire to push themselves and learn new things.
