About the role
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead architecture and write production code for an AI-powered supply chain platform.
The mandatory requirements are 6+ years in software engineering with architecture ownership, 5+ years with C# and ASP.NET Core, Angular, eligibility for US security clearance, ideally working in office in Austin, TX, and strong English communication skills.
What you will do
- Own the architecture of the ABP-based applications: module boundaries, shared libraries, and the conventions other teams build on.
- Lead technical design for major features while writing production full-stack code, including the hardest and most ambiguous problems.
- Set the team’s .NET standards and enforce them through code review, design review, CI and mentoring.
- Build secure-by-design systems, including for AWS GovCloud and government customer environments.
- Own reliability, performance and observability of what they ship, and fix root causes when things fail.
- Plan and lead major .NET and ABP version upgrades while feature work continues.
- Evaluate tools and frameworks and make the call.
- Turn business needs into technical priorities with the Director of Engineering and Product, and document decisions so the team can work without them.
Must haves
- 6+ years in software engineering, including several years owning the architecture of production systems.
- Has led technical delivery across a team without formal authority.
- 5+ years of production C# and ASP.NET Core, with deep knowledge of the request pipeline, dependency injection lifetimes and async behavior.
- Strong EF Core and PostgreSQL: migrations across environments, query plans, indexing, concurrency control.
- Has fixed .NET performance problems in production using tools like dotnet-trace, dotnet-counters or Datadog APM.
- Can ship features end to end in Angular and TypeScript.
- Experience with distributed systems, AWS, containers and CI/CD.
- Secure coding discipline and experience in regulated or high-assurance environments.
- Clear communication with both engineers and executives.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance. Certain programs may require US citizenship.
- Upper-intermediate English level.
Nice to haves
- Production experience with ABP Framework. The posting calls it “strongly preferred,” but deep experience with the same patterns in another .NET framework is accepted.
- Early-stage startup or SaaS experience.
- AWS GovCloud specifically.
- Kafka (Amazon MSK), Kubernetes, Terraform, GitLab, Datadog.
- Works in office in Austin, TX.
Perks
- Growth without limits: build your skills through mentorship, internal TechTalks, challenging projects, and a dedicated annual learning budget
- Competitive compensation: get recognition that reflects your skills and impact, with regular performance and compensation reviews
- Flexibility: work 100% remotely with flexible hours that support focus, autonomy, and a healthy work rhythm
- Meaningful, modern projects: build impactful products using modern technologies alongside global teams and leading brands
- Collaborative culture: join a supportive environment with zero micromanagement where ideas are welcomed and contributions are recognized
- Well-being & support: access local well-being programs and people-focused support tailored to your location

Have any questions?
What is the work format and schedule?
We are a remote-first company, so all our positions are remote. Schedules are flexible, but the main requirement is to have an overlap with your client’s schedule to ensure smooth collaboration. Specific details depend on the project and are discussed during the interview process.
What level of English is required?
We look for Upper-Intermediate (B2) proficiency or higher. Since you will be collaborating with international teams and global clients (including Fortune 500 companies), English is a part of your daily work.
Does AgileEngine provide work equipment?
It depends on your location. We provide equipment in Ukraine, Poland, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Portugal, Spain, and India. In the USA, equipment is usually provided by the client; otherwise, you will be expected to use your own setup.
What opportunities for professional growth do you offer?
We support continuous growth through personalized development paths tailored to each expert. Also, you can expect:
- An annual learning and development budget
- Internal workshops, tech talks, and mentorship programs
- Opportunities to switch projects or grow into new roles over time
What does a typical team look like, and what tools do you use?
Teams vary by project, but you’ll usually work with a mix of experts across different fields, along with a delivery or project manager who supports collaboration and onboarding.
For day-to-day work, teams commonly use tools like Jira and Google Workspace, along with communication platforms such as Google Chat. Depending on the client, you may also work with Slack, Confluence, Notion, or similar tools.
