Workday Platform Developer

About the role
We are looking for a Workday Platform Developer to own the day-to-day operational health of Core HCM, Workday Help, and VNDLY within a People Foundation platform team, supporting worker and contingent worker lifecycle processes across a global enterprise environment. You will investigate and resolve functional and integration-facing production issues, configure and maintain business processes, security assignments, and organizational structures, and partner with HR Shared Services and integration teams to drive root-cause remediation. The role requires 4+ years of hands-on Workday experience with strong Core HCM configuration and production support depth.
What you will do
- Own the day-to-day operational health of the Workday capabilities within the People Foundation Pod.
- Investigate and resolve both functional (configuration) and technical (integration and data-flow) production issues affecting Core HCM, Workday Help, and related worker lifecycle processes.
- Troubleshoot failed or incorrect business processes, transactions, security assignments, configuration problems, and unexpected system behavior.
- Identify recurring production issues and implement sustainable fixes rather than relying on repeated manual intervention. Support incident resolution and root-cause analysis for production-impacting issues across both functional and technical domains.
- Maintain configuration health and proactively surface areas of technical or functional debt.
- Configure and maintain Workday functionality supporting foundational HCM processes, including worker and contingent worker lifecycle, organizations and supervisory structures, staffing and job changes, business process administration, Workday Help, security assignments, and foundational worker and organization data.
- Perform configuration changes needed to sustain platform stability and operational effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot and correct business process routing, condition rules, security, notifications, validations, and related configuration.
- Partner with Functional Developers when an issue requires a larger enhancement, redesign, or new capability.
- Support troubleshooting of Workday integrations affecting People Foundation processes, including inbound and outbound data flows and system-to-system dependencies, partnering with Integration Developers to diagnose issues across APIs, web services, middleware, and downstream systems.
- Help determine whether issues originate in Workday configuration, integration logic, or external system behavior, and support validation of data integrity across Workday and connected systems.
- Contribute to stabilization and remediation of recurring integration-related production issues.
- Support the operational health and configuration of Workday Help, including case routing, security, visibility, configuration, and business process issues.
- Partner with HR Shared Services (who lead most frontline People Solutions support) to identify systemic issues requiring platform-level remediation, and reduce support volume through improved configuration, automation, self-service, and root-cause remediation.
- Support Workday processes and data tied to the contractor lifecycle and the connection between VNDLY and foundational worker data, troubleshooting worker data, process, and integration issues impacting contingent workers and downstream People processes.
- Partner with Procurement, Finance, Integration teams, and other stakeholders where contractor lifecycle processes cross organizational and system boundaries.
Must haves
- 4+ years of hands-on Workday experience.
- Strong functional knowledge of Workday Core HCM.
- Hands-on experience with Workday configuration.
- Experience with Workday Business Processes and worker lifecycle processes.
- Production support and troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot common Workday integration issues.
- Ability to work independently and follow established configuration and integration patterns.
Nice to haves
- Workday Help.
- VNDLY / contingent workforce processes.
- Workday reporting and calculated fields.
- Security administration and security troubleshooting.
- SOX, audit, or User Access Reviews.
- Experience in a large or global Workday environment. Broader integration experience beyond basic troubleshooting.

Have any questions?
What is the work format and schedule?
We are a remote-first company, so all our positions are remote. Schedules are flexible, but the main requirement is to have an overlap with your client’s schedule to ensure smooth collaboration. Specific details depend on the project and are discussed during the interview process.
What level of English is required?
We look for Upper-Intermediate (B2) proficiency or higher. Since you will be collaborating with international teams and global clients (including Fortune 500 companies), English is a part of your daily work.
Does AgileEngine provide work equipment?
It depends on your location. We provide equipment in Ukraine, Poland, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Portugal, Spain, and India. In the USA, equipment is usually provided by the client; otherwise, you will be expected to use your own setup.
What opportunities for professional growth do you offer?
We support continuous growth through personalized development paths tailored to each expert. Also, you can expect:
- An annual learning and development budget
- Internal workshops, tech talks, and mentorship programs
- Opportunities to switch projects or grow into new roles over time
What does a typical team look like, and what tools do you use?
Teams vary by project, but you’ll usually work with a mix of experts across different fields, along with a delivery or project manager who supports collaboration and onboarding.
For day-to-day work, teams commonly use tools like Jira and Google Workspace, along with communication platforms such as Google Chat. Depending on the client, you may also work with Slack, Confluence, Notion, or similar tools.
