About the role

We are looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership for a team of senior engineers building and enhancing software products for a global printing and packaging company. You will own architectural decisions across a Node.js and Next.js stack, set engineering standards, conduct code reviews, drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools including GitHub Copilot and Claude Code, and act as the primary technical counterpart to client stakeholders. The role combines architecture, delivery ownership, and direct client engagement across a distributed engineering team.

What you will do

  • Own the technical direction and architecture of the platform across backend (Node.js) and frontend (Next.js);
  • Lead and mentor a team of senior backend, frontend, QA automation, and AI engineers;
  • Translate business initiatives into technical roadmaps, break down epics, and drive estimation;
  • Conduct code reviews, define engineering standards, and safeguard code quality across the team;
  • Drive adoption of an AI-driven SDLC by integrating AI-assisted development tools into day-to-day workflows;
  • Partner with client stakeholders on architecture reviews, technical strategy, and CRO/A/B testing implementation;
  • Oversee the maintenance backlog, bug triage, and prioritization alongside the Project Manager;
  • Ensure security and quality gates are enforced across all releases;
  • Remove blockers and act as the escalation point for technical risks.

Must haves

  • 7+ years in software engineering, including 2+ years leading engineering teams;
  • Deep expertise in Node.js and React/Next.js in production environments;
  • Strong architectural background in distributed systems, API design, scalability, and performance;
  • Hands-on experience with AWS;
  • Proven track record of setting engineering standards, code review culture, and CI/CD practices;
  • Experience working directly with client stakeholders and translating business goals into technical plans;
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice to haves

  • Experience implementing AI-assisted development workflows;
  • Familiarity with Databricks or data lake architectures;
  • Exposure to CRO and A/B testing programs;
  • Experience leading distributed or hybrid teams across multiple geographies;
  • Background in manufacturing, industrial, or B2B SaaS domains.

Perks

  • Growth without limits: build your skills through mentorship, internal TechTalks, challenging projects, and a dedicated annual learning budget
  • Competitive compensation: get recognition that reflects your skills and impact, with regular performance and compensation reviews
  • Flexibility: work 100% remotely with flexible hours that support focus, autonomy, and a healthy work rhythm
  • Meaningful, modern projects: build impactful products using modern technologies alongside global teams and leading brands
  • Collaborative culture: join a supportive environment with zero micromanagement where ideas are welcomed and contributions are recognized
  • Well-being & support: access local well-being programs and people-focused support tailored to your location

FAQ

Have any questions?

What is the work format and schedule?

We are a remote-first company, so all our positions are remote. Schedules are flexible, but the main requirement is to have an overlap with your client’s schedule to ensure smooth collaboration. Specific details depend on the project and are discussed during the interview process.

What level of English is required?

We look for Upper-Intermediate (B2) proficiency or higher. Since you will be collaborating with international teams and global clients (including Fortune 500 companies), English is a part of your daily work.

Does AgileEngine provide work equipment?

It depends on your location. We provide equipment in Ukraine, Poland, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Portugal, Spain, and India. In the USA, equipment is usually provided by the client; otherwise, you will be expected to use your own setup.

What opportunities for professional growth do you offer?

We support continuous growth through personalized development paths tailored to each expert. Also, you can expect:

  • An annual learning and development budget
  • Internal workshops, tech talks, and mentorship programs
  • Opportunities to switch projects or grow into new roles over time

What does a typical team look like, and what tools do you use?

Teams vary by project, but you’ll usually work with a mix of experts across different fields, along with a delivery or project manager who supports collaboration and onboarding.

For day-to-day work, teams commonly use tools like Jira and Google Workspace, along with communication platforms such as Google Chat. Depending on the client, you may also work with Slack, Confluence, Notion, or similar tools.
