About the role

We are looking for a Product Architect to own technical direction across our product portfolio. You will design scalable architectures, guide feature implementation, and uphold engineering best practices across the codebase. Working closely with Product Management, you will translate requirements into practical technical designs while staying current on AI-assisted development practices.

What you will do

  • Develop a deep understanding of the product codebase through hands-on experimentation and exploration.
  • Design scalable, maintainable software architectures that meet both current and evolving product requirements.
  • Assess and shepherd the technical delivery of products to ensure adherence to best practices and architectural standards.
  • Drive continual improvement of development processes, tooling, and engineering workflows.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders, contributing to the product roadmap, requirements, and release schedule.
  • Identify gaps in the technical aspects of the end user experience and propose practical solutions.
  • Estimate software development requirements and effort, propose alternatives, and prioritize development tasks.
  • Contribute hands-on development support for escalated customer issues, maintaining close familiarity with the codebase and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems directly.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, including AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows, and assess their applicability to product and process improvement.

Must haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in an architectural or technical leadership role.
  • Strong technical background with experience in software testing products, including TestRail.
  • Proficiency in core technologies, including PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript; experience with modern frameworks, cloud platforms, or additional languages is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture patterns, system design, and API-driven development.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development practices and a curiosity about how emerging AI capabilities apply to software quality and engineering.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to take raw product requirements and develop software architectures and designs to bring products to life.
  • Self-directed, intellectually curious, and relentless in researching options to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Performance and efficiency obsessed.

FAQ

Have any questions?

What is the work format and schedule?

We are a remote-first company, so all our positions are remote. Schedules are flexible, but the main requirement is to have an overlap with your client’s schedule to ensure smooth collaboration. Specific details depend on the project and are discussed during the interview process.

What level of English is required?

We look for Upper-Intermediate (B2) proficiency or higher. Since you will be collaborating with international teams and global clients (including Fortune 500 companies), English is a part of your daily work.

Does AgileEngine provide work equipment?

It depends on your location. We provide equipment in Ukraine, Poland, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Portugal, Spain, and India. In the USA, equipment is usually provided by the client; otherwise, you will be expected to use your own setup.

What opportunities for professional growth do you offer?

We support continuous growth through personalized development paths tailored to each expert. Also, you can expect:

  • An annual learning and development budget
  • Internal workshops, tech talks, and mentorship programs
  • Opportunities to switch projects or grow into new roles over time

What does a typical team look like, and what tools do you use?

Teams vary by project, but you’ll usually work with a mix of experts across different fields, along with a delivery or project manager who supports collaboration and onboarding.

For day-to-day work, teams commonly use tools like Jira and Google Workspace, along with communication platforms such as Google Chat. Depending on the client, you may also work with Slack, Confluence, Notion, or similar tools.
