About the role

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to build and maintain React micro-frontend applications for a high-scale payments platform.

The mandatory requirements are 4+ years of experience, Webpack Module Federation, Apollo Client, and an upper-intermediate English level.

Must haves

  • BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent).
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience, with demonstrated ownership of production services in a distributed systems environment.
  • TypeScript and React, including functional components, hooks, context, and custom hooks.
  • Proficiency with Webpack (bundling, code splitting) and component styling using SCSS/CSS Modules and Styled Components.
  • Building and maintaining micro-frontend applications using Webpack Module Federation or similar platform-integrated remote module architectures.
  • Strong working knowledge of GraphQL — writing queries and mutations, consuming them via Apollo Client (caching, reactive variables), and generating type-safe hooks with GraphQL Code Generator or similar tooling.
  • Solid experience with React Router for client-side navigation and for building and validating complex forms.
  • Strong production engineering mindset, including frontend telemetry, error logging, feature flags, gradual rollouts, and debugging user-facing production issues.
  • Building accessible (a11y-compliant) and internationalized user interfaces using shared design systems, reusable component libraries, and localization workflows.
  • Proficiency testing at all levels — unit and integration testing with Jest and React Testing Library, end-to-end testing with TestCafe, Cypress, or Playwright, and familiarity with automated accessibility testing tools.
  • Comfort working in CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or equivalent) with strong command of ESLint, Prettier, and collaborative Git workflows, including branching, code reviews, and merge requests.
  • Comfortable using modern coding assistants responsibly to accelerate code comprehension, implementation, refactoring, and test creation while maintaining ownership of quality, security, and correctness.
  • Deep backend and distributed-systems experience, including exposure to async messaging and multi-datastore consistency challenges.
  • Upper-intermediate English level.

Nice to haves

  • Prior experience in the Billing or Payments domain.
  • Experience with high-scale, mission-critical frontend systems where UX quality, state-management correctness, accessibility, and performance are paramount.
  • Ability to reason clearly about client-side architecture, including micro-frontends, module federation, and caching strategies.
  • Strong collaboration with backend partners on API contracts.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain React micro-frontend solutions and web applications that power Indeed's Payments platform.
  • Add new payment methods to the existing Payments platform capabilities.
  • Contribute to feature development, bug fixes, and reliability improvements across these services.
  • Deliver production-ready feature work and bug fixes through automated CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) with strong test coverage.
  • Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end test suites to ensure high test coverage and service reliability.

Perks

  • Growth without limits: build your skills through mentorship, internal TechTalks, challenging projects, and a dedicated annual learning budget
  • Competitive compensation: get recognition that reflects your skills and impact, with regular performance and compensation reviews
  • Flexibility: work 100% remotely with flexible hours that support focus, autonomy, and a healthy work rhythm

FAQ

Have any questions?

What is the work format and schedule?

We are a remote-first company, so all our positions are remote. Schedules are flexible, but the main requirement is to have an overlap with your client’s schedule to ensure smooth collaboration. Specific details depend on the project and are discussed during the interview process.

What level of English is required?

We look for Upper-Intermediate (B2) proficiency or higher. Since you will be collaborating with international teams and global clients (including Fortune 500 companies), English is a part of your daily work.

Does AgileEngine provide work equipment?

It depends on your location. We provide equipment in Ukraine, Poland, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Portugal, Spain, and India. In the USA, equipment is usually provided by the client; otherwise, you will be expected to use your own setup.

What opportunities for professional growth do you offer?

We support continuous growth through personalized development paths tailored to each expert. Also, you can expect:

  • An annual learning and development budget
  • Internal workshops, tech talks, and mentorship programs
  • Opportunities to switch projects or grow into new roles over time

What does a typical team look like, and what tools do you use?

Teams vary by project, but you’ll usually work with a mix of experts across different fields, along with a delivery or project manager who supports collaboration and onboarding.

For day-to-day work, teams commonly use tools like Jira and Google Workspace, along with communication platforms such as Google Chat. Depending on the client, you may also work with Slack, Confluence, Notion, or similar tools.
