About the role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build web applications that connect back-end data to front-end interfaces and automate business workflows.

The mandatory requirements are a BS in Computer Science or Engineering, 5+ years of software engineering experience with Java or Python, 4+ years of React and TypeScript, and an upper-intermediate English level.

Must haves

  • Senior-level (5+ years) of hands-on software engineering experience; as the first core software engineer on the team, must possess the architectural maturity to design and implement solutions, set foundational coding standards, and guide and upskill peers.
  • 5+ years of programming experience in at least one of the following languages: Java or Python.
  • 5+ years of experience developing backend APIs in a data-driven environment.
  • 5+ years of experience with datastores such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar long-term stores.
  • 4+ years of experience building production frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Strong knowledge of REST or GraphQL, RPC, and JSON.
  • Working knowledge of a cloud-based environment, with a focus on AWS.
  • Experience conducting and leading code reviews.
  • Experience impacting a product or project in a tangible, positive manner.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical-related degree.
  • Upper-intermediate English level.

Nice to haves

  • Experience creating solutions for billing.
  • Working knowledge of service-oriented and event-driven system architectures.
  • Experience consuming GraphQL APIs from the frontend (Apollo Client or similar).
  • Demonstrated use of Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, or other messaging frameworks.
  • Familiarity with a component-based design system.
  • Experience writing frontend tests using Jest and React Testing Library.
  • Working knowledge of frontend build tooling (Webpack, Vite, or similar).
  • Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and accessible UI development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for debugging complex issues and maturing code.
  • Significant experience with large-scale, high-performance systems, including an understanding of the tradeoffs between consistency and scalability and common patterns for scaling reliable systems through data replication and redundancy.

What you will do

  • Architect and build full-stack software solutions that power business operations, spanning both backend API development and frontend application building.
  • Develop custom web applications that give stakeholders an operational front-end interface to review, monitor, and execute complex business logic in a self-serve manner.
  • Merge the modern data stack with software engineering capabilities, including API services, microservices, and workflow orchestration engines.
  • Build automated workflows and triggers that instantly sync cross-platform systems.
  • Transform static and traditional data/analytics solutions into automated operational workflows, closing the loop between data ingestion, analytical insights, and automated operational execution.

Perks

  • Growth without limits: build your skills through mentorship, internal TechTalks, challenging projects, and a dedicated annual learning budget
  • Competitive compensation: get recognition that reflects your skills and impact, with regular performance and compensation reviews
  • Flexibility: work 100% remotely with flexible hours that support focus, autonomy, and a healthy work rhythm

FAQ

Have any questions?

What is the work format and schedule?

We are a remote-first company, so all our positions are remote. Schedules are flexible, but the main requirement is to have an overlap with your client’s schedule to ensure smooth collaboration. Specific details depend on the project and are discussed during the interview process.

What level of English is required?

We look for Upper-Intermediate (B2) proficiency or higher. Since you will be collaborating with international teams and global clients (including Fortune 500 companies), English is a part of your daily work.

Does AgileEngine provide work equipment?

It depends on your location. We provide equipment in Ukraine, Poland, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Portugal, Spain, and India. In the USA, equipment is usually provided by the client; otherwise, you will be expected to use your own setup.

What opportunities for professional growth do you offer?

We support continuous growth through personalized development paths tailored to each expert. Also, you can expect:

  • An annual learning and development budget
  • Internal workshops, tech talks, and mentorship programs
  • Opportunities to switch projects or grow into new roles over time

What does a typical team look like, and what tools do you use?

Teams vary by project, but you’ll usually work with a mix of experts across different fields, along with a delivery or project manager who supports collaboration and onboarding.

For day-to-day work, teams commonly use tools like Jira and Google Workspace, along with communication platforms such as Google Chat. Depending on the client, you may also work with Slack, Confluence, Notion, or similar tools.
